2019, the Year of Eros

Let me first start by saying, what I’m expressing below is tangential; I admit, it's a series of loosely connected thoughts that have been circulating through me for some time, relating to the extraordinary time we live in, to femininity, to sexuality, to the cornerstone of Tantra—awareness and vitality. These thoughts probably don't belong together, but for some reason I'm sharing them with you today.

A few days ago I saw on Facebook a funny meme showing a couple of extra-terrestrials commenting on the fact that we humans celebrate the New Year. In simple terms, they were noting that Earth had simply made a revolution around the Sun and nothing more. Yes, one full revolution which took us 365 days to find ourselves back here again. But where's "here"? Since we're constantly moving, changing, transforming, there's no "here" to really come back to. Each one of us, our planet, the entire universe, is constantly moving away from "here" which we can never return to, really... Like a Greek philosopher once said, we can’t ever be in the same river twice since we and the river are never the same. Nevertheless, this is the “here" that we’ve agreed to mean 2019! Well, ok then! And women have been bursting into the spotlight like never before. Whether they're porn stars, celebrities, judges, politicians, or the millions around the world that have marched together in solidarity for women's rights, it's women who are finally coming into power around our world —a world that has been run by men for millennia. I know people, entire movements actually, who fear the so-called demasculinization and feminisation of our societies. But what is there to fear? A world less run by testosterone? After thousands of years of his-story, isn't it about time? Well, it seems so; just look at what has recently happened to the US Congress! Rather than holding onto a past of masculine force, let us embrace a future of feminine grace, dance and consciousness. Who run the world? Ask the prophet, Beyoncé ;)

Rather than holding onto
a past of masculine force,
let us embrace a future
of feminine grace!

Especially over the past year, we've witnessed an outpouring of... [THIS POST TO BE UPDATED ON JAN. 7, 2019]
